We're going to throw down and say that a good bookkeeping system is one of the most essential pieces of running a successful business. Good bookkeeping is an art as much as a science, and having a partner that works alongside you as your grow your business and can help you understand your numbers and adapt as your business evolves will be one of the best investments you ever make.
Our services are designed for small business owners and leaders who want to understand, plan, and make informed decisions.
All new clients begin with six months of integrated strategic consulting and bookkeeping services to align the financial data with your strategic priorities and vision.
We believe in:
There shouldn't be anything mystical or secret about your money. We want you to see our work and have access to all the information we do. It's your business, after all.
One of the most powerful benefits of having clean books and accurate reports is that you can start to plan for the future, in a smart, strategic way.
You shouldn't live in a cloud of confusion about how your money and your operations relate. We're always a phone call away and happy to break it down.
How it works:
How Consulting Works
Through quarterly summits and ongoing support in between, we provide thought partnership, guidance, and expertise as you grow your business. Our work is holistic in approach: we’ll ask about your day-to-day happiness as much as your revenue goals.
Every three months we’ll collect the numbers, including benchmarks you may have outside of our financial support (for example, number of new clients), to review the success of the previous quarter, and then work on the plan and benchmarks for the quarter ahead.
In between, we offer monthly Office Hours for questions and check ins.
How Bookkeeping Works
Our team works virtually, using Quickbooks online and cloud-based filing systems. Once per month your dedicated bookkeeping associate will gather, either automatically or with your help, the bank statements, credit card statements, and all the other essential financial data of your business.
Once we've collected all the data we need, we'll run questions by you to ensure that we've got the right info to complete your financial reports for the prior month. After we get your input on the financial details for the previous month, you will receive the reports that you need to fully understand the numbers of your business.
Have a question? Your bookkeeper is an email away. We also meet regularly via video call to go over details, and ensure we're synced up with what's happening in your company.
Growing? Need a new system? Flummoxed by the inevitable bookkeeping conundrums that will come up? We have a whole team that will put their heads together to solve the issue; we're epic at problem solving.
How We Integrate the Two
Having the numbers on a regular basis is one half of successful business stewardship, knowing what the numbers mean and using those numbers to inform decisions and strategic direction is the other half.
While the bookkeeper’s role is to keep excellent and accurate financial records and provide data on past months, with advisement we will use the financial data to inform future planning and craft healthier businesses and more robust bottom lines. Since we’re all on the same team, you enjoy an extra level of oversight over your financials.
Who we serve:
We work with solo-entrepreneurs with a single bank account and credit card, growing businesses with payroll, merchant accounts, and inventory, up to complex companies in need of dedicated weekly bookkeeping, without the hassle or knowhow needed to hire, train, and supervise yourself.
Our clients include service, as well as retail and product-based businesses; the creative and number-phobic; those who have never had a bookkeeping system before; and those that have advanced experience and a CFO on their team who need a solid financial support team.
Our services are billed as a flat, monthly fee based on the size and complexity of your business.
Catch Up Bookkeeping & New Systems
If you've fallen behind a month or even many more, we can work with you to get any back work caught up.
When we begin working together we will start with a thorough audit of your current systems and current fiscal year books; we'll include the areas you know may need some attention, and perhaps some that you don't. You will receive a report and project quote detailing recommendations to ensure your books are caught up and in good order to ensure a smooth ongoing process.
We do set up new Quickbooks Online accounts from scratch for those who are starting out, or converting from desktop software.
A few additional things we can take care of
- Quarterly or monthly sales tax planning, organizing, and filing
- Year-End 1099 creation & filing
- Recommendations for payroll services, benefits providers, human resource services, accountants, attorneys, and more
- Bookkeeping integration with Shopify, Square, or other Merchant Accounts
"I own a boutique photography studio and want to run my business as effectively and efficiently as possible. This means outsourcing what I can't or won't do. For me, this is the bookkeeping."
Enter Wanderwell. They takes care of the things that send me into a tizzy - sales, expenses, taxes [and are] reliable, thorough, responsive, patient, organized, personable, and more useful than just balancing the books.
They love working with small businesses and actually spend time helping you organize your numbers, process, and thoughts... Basically, I just really, really trust them, and that's after going through 4 CPAs, 1 financial advisor, and 2 bookkeepers in the last 5 years. When you're having someone deal with something as personal as your very own business, you understand how important it is to truly trust the guy who manages the numbers.
